The special populations oral health committee focuses on raising student awareness about caring for special patient populations, including but not limited to - geriatric patients, underserved groups, individuals with developmental disabilities, and/or those who are affected by other medical, physical, or emotional issues. Past events include Lunch & Learns to educate students on how to properly provide dental treatment to geriatric and special needs populations, as well as visits to local special needs facilities providing students with hands-on experience.

 

The veteran services committee aims to improve the dental needs of homeless and impoverished veterans in our local community through education of students as well as patients. Past events include VA Stand Down events, Operation Bruin Smiles, and more.
